ATLAS MEDIA CORP PROMOTIONS, HIRINGS SIGNAL NEW GROWTH FOR VETERAN PRODUCTION COMPANY
NEW YORK – April 2, 2007 – Atlas Media Corp., one of the country’s largest and most influential independent producers of non-fiction programming, announced today the promotion of Kaki Kirby to executive vice president of business development and special projects and Lauren Frasca to director of development. New hires include David Levitt as director of talent and casting and Samantha Lee as manager of development. The announcement was made today by Atlas Media president and executive producer Bruce David Klein.
In response to high client demand and new growth – last year was a record-breaking year for the company with over a dozen series and specials and 150+ hours in production – these promotions and new hires are the first in a series of steps Atlas will take to double the size of its development department in the coming year.
“This is a key part of our mandate for 2007 – to dramatically increase the depth and breadth of our development team,” said Bruce David Klein. “Promoting Kaki and Lauren, and giving them the tools they need to succeed will allow us to juggle a higher volume of great ideas, and respond even faster to our clients.”
The addition of Mr. Levitt signals Atlas’ commitment to serving its clients’ needs, according to Kirby. “Everyone’s looking for talent. And we know it’s important to bring our clients the best that’s out there. David is instrumental to that process – he has a great eye and understands what really pops.”
Mr. Levitt has been working on the casting side of production since 2003. He has been a casting producer for such shows as Elimidate and MTV’s My Super Sweet 16. Before that, he served as the production manager of The Walker’s Cay Chronicles, as well as the nationally syndicated Jim Fowler’s Life in the Wild.
Ms. Kirby joined Atlas in 2005, and is responsible for supporting the growing business needs of the company as it further expands its presence in the domestic and international marketplace. She is also responsible for the development, sales, and marketing of all Atlas projects, and has been instrumental in creating an overall long-term growth strategy for the company, as well as ushering deals with new clients National Geographic Channel, Fox Reality and GSN. Throughout her career as a producer, Ms. Kirby has been responsible for more than 300 hours of non-fiction television production.
As director of development at Atlas Media, Ms. Frasca is responsible for overseeing the creation and development of all non-fiction specials and series. She has been instrumental in the creation and development of such Atlas shows as Everyday Things (NGC), Hollywood Hair Affair (WE) and Gotta Get It! (Food Network). Ms. Frasca was previously senior manager of development at Atlas Media.
Ms. Lee joins Atlas Media from Scholastic Entertainment, where she was responsible for development of live-action teen television projects, as well as identifying Scholastic properties for television and film development.
