Atlas Appoints Programme Director
New York-based indie Atlas Media Corp has appointed former BBC producer Suzanne Levy to the newly-created role of director of programming.
Levy will oversee Atlas’ portfolio of specials and series, reporting into senior vice president of programming, Cheryl Houser.
Atlas said it had taken on Levy to the new role in response to a significant uplift in work, including seven new series for broadcasters including The History Channel, A&E and Discovery Health.
Levy worked at the BBC for 16 years, during which time she was senior producer of the science magazine show Tomorrow’s World. Subsequent credits include Blood of the Vikings (BBC/TLC) and Meet the Ancestors (BBC/Discovery).
In the US she produced Now Who’s Boss (New York Times TV for TLC) and Things I Hate About You (Wall to Wall for Bravo). Levy was also a consultant to Atlas and a supervising producer for the History Channel.
