Atlas Media Expands Its Executive Roster with One New Appointment and Announces One Senior Executive Promotion

New York (June 15, 2004) – Atlas Media, the award-winning reality-documentary-docudrama production company, has added one distinguished executive to its management team with the appointment of Cheryl Miller Houser as Senior Vice President – Programming. In addition, Maria Lane was promoted to Executive Vice President – Programming. The announcement was made by Bruce David Klein, President and Executive Producer of Atlas Media.
Cheryl Miller Houser joins the company as Senior Vice President – Programming. In her new role, Houser will oversee a select portfolio of specials and series, develop new properties, and oversee special projects. She will report to Maria Lane, Executive Vice President – Programming. Houser previously held senior management positions at Winstar TV and Video and Hidden Treasures Productions, and has produced award-winning feature films as well as more than 70 hours of original programming for many of the leading cable stations.
Maria Lane was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President – Programming. Lane was formerly Senior Vice President - Programming at Atlas Media since June 2002, and joined Atlas in 1993 as a Writer-Producer. Lane will continue to oversee all aspects of programming and development for the company in her new role. Selected highlights from Lane’s tenure with Atlas include History’s Lost & Found for The History Channel which garnered the coveted Cine Golden Eagle Award; American Eats, winner of the James Beard Award; Exotic Islands, the international travel-adventure series, and Top 5, Atlas’ critically acclaimed series for Food Network.
