Atlas Media Corp. Recruits Seasoned Professional Suzanne Levy for Newly Created Director of Programming Position
NEW YORK (January 20, 2005) - Atlas Media Corp, the leading NY-based independent television production company, announced today the hiring of Suzanne Levy as Director of Programming, a new position. Atlas created the position in response to a dramatic up tick in volume—including seven new series for the likes of The History Channel, A&E, Discovery Health, WE: Women’s Entertainment and The Weather Channel, announced Atlas President & Executive Producer, Bruce David Klein. Ms. Levy will be responsible for overseeing a growing portfolio of Atlas’ specials and series, as well as a variety of programming logistics. She will report to Cheryl Houser, Sr. Vice President of Programming.

Levy is an award-winning radio and TV producer and director. During her sixteen years as a BBC staffer, she worked on news, magazine shows and documentaries, covering science and history, arts and lifestyle.
In the U.S. she produced Now Who’s Boss, a business reality show (New York Times TV for TLC), and Things I Hate About You, a relationship reality show (Wall to Wall Media for Bravo) before working as a consultant with Atlas Media Corp. as Series Producer on six programs for the Biography Channel on subjects as diverse as Frida Kahlo and Louis B. Mayer. She later became Supervising Producer on ToolBox for The History Channel and Forecast Earth for The Weather Channel.
Her past documentary work includes producing the top-rated series Blood of the Vikings (BBC/TLC), as well as the archaeological series Meet the Ancestors (BBC/Discovery), and an hour on the history of lie detection Lying Game (BBC for TLC).
She was senior producer on the BBC’s weekly primetime science and innovation magazine show, Tomorrow’s World, where she supervised the work of a team of directors and managed the show on a weekly basis. Her special on the Science of Survival drew an audience of over six million.
