Atlas Media Corp. Creates New Division Dedicated to the Production of Lifestyle Programming
New unit quickly moves into developing a slate of unique series with two of today’s foremost lifestyle experts
NEW YORK – March 03, 2005 – Atlas Media Corp., the production company behind the successful lifestyle series All Year Round with Katie Brown for A&E Network, announced today that it has created a new division that will specialize in creating break out home and lifestyle programming. Headed by Maria Lane, Atlas’ Executive Vice President of Programming, this new Lifestyle Unit already has a growing development slate having recently signed deals with two of today’s premiere lifestyle personalities, Jennifer Kofford and Elizabeth DiMeo. The announcement was made by Bruce David Klein, Atlas’ President & Executive Producer.
“This move is in direct response to our clients’ needs,” commented Klein. “Viewers and advertisers have an insatiable appetite for lifestyle programming whether it involves food, fitness, home improvement, or other creative projects. With the new unit in operation, we are committed to identifying the hottest niches in that genre and developing programs that are completely fresh, unique, and diverse in content.”
Currently headlining three new projects is crafts maven Jennifer Kofford, aka “The Woman On The Run Who Gets Things Done”. Kofford is best known for her role as Creative Ambassador to the highly successful Making Memories franchise, one of the nation’s fastest growing manufacturers of craft and scrapbooking supplies.
With shows ranging from on-location reality formats (“Try This At Home”) to more intimate how-to settings (“Make It Magic”), the programs tap into Kofford’s many passions and talents, including scrapbooking, decorating, cooking, photography, and making creative gifts.
Also in development is a slate of lifestyle series that put the spotlight on nutrition. The first, titled “Naked Nutrition”, joins nutritionist, chef and fitness guru Elizabeth DiMeo, Certified Nutrition Specialist, as she surprises people on the street and in their homes, revealing eye-opening truths about the food in their lunch bags and pantries. In addition to fascinating facts about the food we eat, Elizabeth offers positive, easy-to-achieve ways to take tiny but important steps toward living a long and fit life.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and is state licensed and certified by the American College of Nutrition. In addition to her extensive work in nutrition, her experience as a chef and personal fitness trainer supports her passionate efforts at prevention, overall wellness, and proving that eating for health can be fun.
