ATLAS MEDIA CORP. REACHES INTERNATIONAL RIGHTS AGREEMENT WITH BEYOND DISTRIBUTION FOR ‘SCIENCE IMPOSSIBLE’ MINI-SERIES
NEW YORK, MARCH 26, 2009 – Atlas Media Corp., one of the country’s largest independent producers of high quality non-fiction programming and content, has reached an international rights agreement with Beyond Distribution for its Science Impossible mini-series (2x1-hour). Beyond Distribution will introduce the program to the international marketplace during MIP-TV in late March. The announcement was made today by Kaki Kirby, EVP of business development and special projects.
Throughout history, ‘superhumans’ have long been relegated to the world of freaks, sideshow acts and human marvels. Imagine being able to do such things re-grow fingers, swallow Rubik’s Cubes, painlessly rotate your legs 180 degrees and walk backwards, induce a heart attack on yourself – and survive. In this pivotal new series, Science Impossible will explore these strange cases and amazing feats through a scientific lens. With the aid of the world’s top experts and most advanced technologies, the show will analyze and decode the mysteries behind these unique phenomena. It will explain the inexplicable, make you believe the unbelievable, and ultimately prove possible the impossible.
Scientists in every field, as well as experts with non-traditional theories, will utilize charts, graphs, models, virtual recreations, live experiments, video footage and eye witness accounts to explore these phenomena. Whether it’s how New Yorker Jared Rydelek can insert a 5-inch screwdriver into his naval cavity, why a 35 year old Indonesian man is turning into a tree or how David G. Willey can safely dip his hand into molten lead – no stone will be left unturned in the quest to solve these modern mysteries of mankind.
Said Beyond Distribution’s General Manager, Fiona Crago, “Beyond is thrilled to be representing Science Impossible internationally for Atlas Media and will be launching it at MIP-TV in Cannes. The program is an outrageous, fascinating and informative insight into the outer limits of the human body.”
