Atlas Digital & Emerging Media
On October 10, 2007, Atlas Media Corp announced the formation of its Digital + Emerging Media Group. Under the direction of Executive VP Maria Lane, this new division marries Atlas’ longstanding reputation for excellence with an entirely new approach to content. It’s Atlas with extra attitude, focused specifically on Internet, mobile, VOD, and any other medium the techies dream up.
In October alone:
* Route 666: America’s Scariest Home Haunts – web series for Comcast-owned FEARnet.com delves into the dedication and imagination of a handful of horror junkies who transform Halloween into a personal mission. Their homes become home made fantasy worlds of blood, guts, ghosts and gore. Hosted by “Scream Queen” Danielle Harris, star of Halloween IV, V, and Rob Zombie’s new hot hit remake Halloween.
* History Rocks! webisodes win major award at MIPCOM -- “History Rocks!” took top honors, winning the prestigious Best Short Form Entertainment award at the MIPCOM Mobile and Internet Awards in Cannes. Companion to the highly rated TV show, the Atlas-produced web series is one of the most successful on History.com
* Stounder.com channels on YouTube &ndash launching in mid-October, the new Atlas-programmed entity called Stounder.com brings astoundingly innovative content to short form. Among the channels under the Stounder.com banner: Things You Have To See To Believe, with rare glimpses of intriguing rituals, bizarre festivals, and outrageous behavior – and Dr. Strange Sex, featuring case studies, insights and no-limits advice from a renowned sex therapist. Stound your senses, free your mind – with Stounder.com.
* Pilots – the Digital + Emerging Media Group is piloting a mobile concept for Discovery and a VOD concept for FUSE, among others.
